Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the specifics and activities of the European Commission. The European Commission is one of the most important institutions of the European Union. It is politically independent, protects the interests of the EU as a whole and is considered to be the engine of European integration in a number of key areas. It proposes legislation, specific policies, programmes and action strategies, represents the EU in its external relations.
